CCTV Camera Solutions: New Formula For Security In Surat

In a country where there is rising crime and quite a heavy burden on the protection force, the new closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance cameras that were inaugurated in Surat have come as a blessing. On Thursday, 18 July, 2013, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, inaugurated phase one of the “Safe City Surat” program. Under this program, the entire city of Surat on a 200 kilometer radius, will be under the surveillance of 5000 CCTV cameras set at 500 strategic locations.

A City Well Guarded

As a city, Surat has been ahead of the rest with a number of technological advancements. This new CCTV surveillance project is another boost to the arm of the Surat police as it provides a new formula for security in this city. The first of its kind to incorporate the Public Private Partnership business model, this project is all set to root out crime to a large extent.

Extreme care has been taken to get the best technology with tamper proof cameras that are protected from vandals or other troublemakers. The Command and Control room that monitors these cameras is well organized and protected against arson or any other threats. This ensures that criminals and troublemakers cannot get away scot free as they used to earlier.

Setting an excellent example for other major cities, this new initiative in Surat has surely spelled doom for criminals and success for law abiding citizens who want to live life without fear. With the eye of the law now more intently upon them, the activities of criminals within this city are all set to reduce. With the first phase rolled out, the completion of this project is awaited with much eagerness.
