CCTV Camera Solutions: How To Maintain And Replace CCTV Lenses

Many establishments are using CCTV and they have become very important in ensuring safety. CCTV cameras are exposed to climatic elements and are used continuously throughout the year, so it is essential that they are kept in good condition. Below are given some helpful tips which you can do by yourself.
How To Clean CCTV Lens

Blow hot air over the lens, so that dirt particles are removed. Use a soft cloth, probably a microfiber cloth that you can get at an eye-wear store to wipe the lens. When you do so, wipe it gently so that the CCTV’s special coating is not damaged or removed. You can apply little CCTV cleaner on the cloth before wiping. Or else you can also use distill water. When using a CCTV cleaner, make sure that the solution is mind and does not remove the special coating from the lens.

How To Replace CCTV Lens

When changing the lenses, either you will have to replace it with lenses having identical focal length, or if you want to cater to a different viewing area change the lens accordingly. To change the lens, place a ladder below the camera. Remove the window frame that you find right at the front section of the camera. Now to remove the lens, twist it half-turn to the left and unlock it. Take the new lens by its edge. In doing so, avoid touching the centre part in order that it does not get smudged. Now, connect it to the camera again and twist it so that it turns half to the right. Once this is done, replace the window frame over the camera.
