The Ahmadabad Municipal Corporation has started installing closed-circuit television(cctv) cameras across the city at public gardens, hospitals and bus stops. This process will be completed by June 15th 2013.It is expected that morethan 500 cameras will be installed in the public places out of which 184 cameras will be allotted for 84 traffic junctions and also BRTS routes will have 102 cameras.

2. The security level of the city will be increased through the process of investigating the criminal activities.
3. It helps to monitor the water logging problems in the rainy seasons.
4. CCTV cameras will also be used to detect the over-speeding of vehicles on the roads through which traffic rules offenders can be indentified easily and will be penalized.
